Hallelujah

There’s music and then there’s the music, in every holiday season that manages to strike a chord in our hearts. Seasonal music is filled with remembrances and flashbacks. Music has the brilliant ability to set our moods. “Rock Around the Clock?” Maybe maybe not. 

The Trumpet:

Hallelujah. George Frederick Handel’s Messiah. Energizing, uplifting, and downright helps everyone celebrate just being alive. Through the entire orchestration and the massive, energetic chorus, there stands out a single trumpet that makes a crescendo of a transition. That trumpeter blows his horn for only a brief few seconds. When you hear that trumpet solo for the first time, it’s entirely magical. Once you make the discovery you will never be able to listen to Handel’s Messiah ever again without singing to yourself Hallelujah.

The Holidays:

Yes, they're here! Some people will be happy, others will dread this time of year. There are plenty of reasons for both. Consider this, spiritually and emotionally you do have a choice. Reframe your thoughts, cast out all of your negative feelings, the devil is feeding your mind. But then again, you may be joyful and triumphant. You're surrounded by angels that are celebrating with you. I wish that for everyone not only during this season, but throughout every year.

The gift buying season:

The gifts we voluntarily bestow on one another without compensation. The gifts we receive make a strong impression because they were so unexpected. Even the humblest of gifts can make an impact on our heart that stays with us a lifetime. A genuine smile and a warm caring hug is the gift that reaches down into our very souls because it’s so physically natural and often needed. It just lets you feel like it’s OK and everything will always be OK. A smile and a hug are free to give to one another, but it’s heart-felt value to the recipient is immeasurably priceless. Be generous not only during the holidays, but every day throughout the year.

Smile and a Hug:

The trumpet’s phenomenal brief solo is a smile and a hug brilliantly positioned, in all of those verbally sung hallelujahs. Delivering joy that can be felt throughout the year in all of our hearts. At least that’s what it does for me every time I hear it. Life has its ups and downs. But there’s times when we all just celebrate that we have the right to be joyful and triumphant, or to put it plainly, living a hallelujah life.
